Unseen wildlife need loud advocates.
That's the rallying cry behind the Roaring Fork Safe Passages Advocacy Team aka the A-Team for short. It's a community of nearly 30 valley locals who've decided that watching from the sidelines isn't enough.
Wildlife crossings don't get built because one person cares. They get built because a community does. The A-Team is that community in action.
Who’s On It
The A-Team is proof that this issue reaches every corner of the valley. Photographers. Business owners. Engineers. Writers. Video directors. Environmentalists. Hunters. Financial advisors. A member of the Sheriff's Department. Teachers. Parents. Longtime locals and newer transplants alike.
Different day jobs, different networks, different reasons for caring, but the same conviction: wildlife in the Roaring Fork Valley deserve a safer way to move through it, and that takes all of us.
What They Do
Sharing RFSP campaigns and updates with their own networks
Reaching out to elected officials and government entities when it matters most
Writing letters to the editor and op-eds for local papers
Speaking with the community about why this issue hits home for them
Showing up at RFSP events
Telling their own story. A close call, a near-miss, a reason this work matters to them
No one is expected to do all of it. Everyone brings what they've got and their own ideas, skillsets, and interests.
